Boudicea, Asymmetric Collar, Beaded and Stitched by Hand, Fit for a Warrior Queen
Status: Available in my Etsy shop
I hand-stitched this original design with strong, archival quality bead thread, which makes this an heirloom-quality piece of jewellery. No glue guns here!
A bit fanciful, I know, but I would like to think that Boudicea, Queen of the British Iceni Tribe, would have looked fabulous in this!
The top focal is a Bronze Infused Amethyst cabochon, surrounded by Japanese seed beads and metal sequins.
To each side of the Amethyst cabochon is a fanciful array of metal and Swarovski sequins, faceted ball chain, and copper mesh lace.
The lower focal is a Fossil Coral cabochon surrounded by a peyote-stitch beaded bezel.
The fringe is an eclectic mix of Japanese seed beads, glass & copper bugle beads, Czech glass bicones, and a hand-hammered copper leaf dangle.
The beads of the necklace cord are copper wire beads, Japanese glass seed beads, and Czech fire-polished glass beads.
The clasp and extension chain are silver-plated metal.
This collar was hand-beaded and hand-stitched by me. The backing is faux suede. All fabric components were treated so that they are water and stain resistant.
The collar is 5 inches (13cm) long (including the fringe) and 4.25 inches (11cm) wide at its widest point.
Each side of the necklace cord is 6.5 inches (17cm) long, with a 2 inch (5 cm) silver-plated extension chain on one end.
