Funny story. This was supposed to be a poppy meadow under a stormy sky. After applying watercolours to the paper in what I thought were the colours of a stormy sky and a poppy meadow and using the cling-film technique to create texture, I spilled indigo ink on the paper. I walked away in frustration. After it dried and I took off the cling-film, in my mind’s eye I could see a lush tropical hills in the foreground and a mysterious blue mountain in the background. So I made the mountain a little more mountain-like and did some negative painting on the hills to bring out some leaf shapes. A spatter of Aqua Bronze, and voila! I think this is one of those happy accidents you hear about.
